What is the Minor Injury Cap?

The Minor Injury Cap is a $2,500 limit (cap) that applies to people who are injured in automobile accidents in Nova Scotia. The Minor Injury Cap was created by s. 113B of the Insurance Act and the Automobile Insurance Tort Recovery Limitation Regulations (Minor Injury Reglations).

Basically, if you are deemed to have a "minor injury", then you are only entiled to receive $2,500 as compensation for the pain, suffering, and inconvenience caused by your injuries.
